Day One of the Distant Plot

So it begins...I've signed up to write this novel dealio in November and I have the faintest idea of where it's going, but nothing really concrete. I regret to announce that it's going to read like chicklit (oh dearie) but its based on RL at the moment.

But I'm getting ahead of myself. I am currently on an exchange programme in the States, over from Ireland. It's all been rather interesting so far. MAJOR cultural differences, and a lot of funny experiences. So I want to write a little novel about it.

So far it runs like this. Irish girl in America. Told via journal entries, emails and narrative. A lot of little interlinked experiences. She isn't me, I know that much, I'm making her single so I can fool about with her love life a bit. I haven't decided if she is cooler than me or not (ie will I cringe writing about her or not). The people she has travelled with are different from the ones I've travelled with. The town and University will be fairly similiar, seeing as this is the best example of American culture I have.

Other than that, I haven't really decided much...Good luck to all the other writers this November!!
